Juan Leon Parra, LMHC-MA works in the College Mental Health Educational Program (CMHEP) at Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation in the College of Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College at Boston University. Juan joined the team in March 2020, and Juan’s ability to be adaptable and amenable to the work and the students, was on full display as we all adjusted to new expectations. Juan is an instructor and coach in the NITEO,  program, a semester-long simulation of college that provides instruction and practice in both academic and wellness skills. Juan is a College Coach, providing one-on-one support, and building community-based resources to assist in student directed goals. Juan has enhanced our LEAD BU dissemination by creating a Spanish translation of the course. Juan is skilled at forming community connection and seeking out ways for CMHEP to expand and advance while adhering to our recovery values of choice, hope and self-determination.
