Psychiatric Rehabilitation Coaching

For decades, the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation has developed, researched, and disseminated Coaching models. The Institute is a one-day conference showcasing the principles and practices that effectively transfer and translate across professions. Psychiatric rehabilitation coaching ties together the science of choice, change, and wellness, and The Coaching Institute is a full-day immersive experience to support coaches, mental health providers, and educators build coaching capacities and confidence.

Continuing Education Units

This program has been approved for 5.5 Social Work Continuing Education hours for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. NASW-MA Chapter CE Approving Program, Authorization Number: D10202. This program has been approved as a Continuing Education Activity for Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) for 6 Continuing Education hours, MCEAP Authorization 25-1189. Registered attendees, who meet attendance requirements, will need to complete a survey at the end of the Institute. After completion of the survey, a CEU certificate for the number of CEUs earned will be sent.

The Coaching Institute offers 4 learning tracks of evidence-based Coaching Models. The afternoon is dedicated to learning and practicing your track choice. Choose from:

Track A: Coaching Young Adults

Explore Young Adult Coaching with Chelsea Cobb and Courtney Joly-Lowdermilk. Young adult coaching is a solution-focused, interactive, and collaborative approach to working one-on-one with young adults to help them thrive in all areas of their well-being.

Track B: Coaching Caregivers

Practice Caregiver Coaching approaches and tools with Mataiah Crossley and Gary Horwitz. Caregiver Coaching is a central feature of Flourishing Families, an intervention that supports parents, guardians, and caregivers cultivate role function and satisfaction.

Track C: Coaching Peer Providers

Explore CAPP – Coaching and Achievement of Peer Providers – with Lisa Krystynak and Lyn Legere. CAPP is a coaching intervention that supports Peer Workers navigate the workplace in behavioral health care systems.

Learn about PASS – Peer Academic Supports for Success – with Paul Cherchia and Anya Lydon. PASS is a promising intervention to support young adult students with mental health conditions, addressing retention, learning, and student satisfaction.

Scholarship Application

Institute Transfer, Cancellation, and Refund Policy:

To transfer a registration to a colleague, please contact Kai Linehan at
klineha2@bu.edu. All cancellations and refund requests must be received in writing. Additional charges may apply for transfers requested after the early bird registration date. Cancellation requests received before July 1 (5 PM EST) will receive a full refund minus the $50 administrative fee. Refund requests received between July 1 – July 22 will receive no refund. No-shows are not eligible for a credit or refund.

The conference may be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case, registration fees will be refunded; however, the Coaching Institute will not be responsible for additional costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, and/or travel agencies. The Coaching Institute is not responsible for weather-related travel delays or other issues in regard to personal travel, and no refunds will be given due to these occurrences.

Access & Accommodations

Requests for accommodations during the Institute should be made in the registration portal at the time you register for the conference. The last day to request accommodations is June 24th, 2025. If you register for the Conference after that date, please email Kai Linehan at klineha2@bu.edu.
