Employment in the Context of Recovery

May 8-10, 2017 at Boston University.
The workshops are for providers, family members, persons in recovery, and others interested in employment.

Creating a Recovery Orientation: The Foundation for Employment Services
Presented by Marianne Farkas and Rick Forbess.

Strategies and core competencies will be presented to help direct care providers, clinicians, and administrators to achieve a recovery-oriented program or agency.

Families as Partners in Employment
Presented by Joan Rapp and Kathleen Considine.

Outlines barriers and facilitators to families as partners with the job seekers and providers in getting and keeping employment. Describes how informed family members can promote employment.

Opening Doors to Career Development
Presented by Uma Chandrika Millner and Staff of Opening Doors.

Workshop identifies attitudes, knowledge, and skills that promote individuals considering, choosing, and getting meaningful employment, and developing careers.

Online course on Job Development and Job Retention for Persons in Recovery

A course for Employment Specialists, Rehabilitation Counselors, Vocational Peer Specialists and others working to improve employment outcomes.

Enroll in our 10-week online course: 5 online Modules and 5 live web/discussion meetings. At the end of each Module there is a test and a Discussion Board. This will be our 16th class and we have had learners from throughout the U.S., Canada and three other countries.

Registration is open now for the next session beginning at the end of April, 2017. Be sure to review the website for full information on this program. There is a fee for this course and some CEU’s are available. Hosted at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, June 24-26, 2017 (with pre-conference activities beginning Friday, June 23, 2017), sponsored by the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, the Academy of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery, and the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association Georgia chapter.
