The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is a service of the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) of the U.S. Department of Labor. Launched in 1997, the website “Handling your Psychiatric Disability in Work and School” has proved to be a valuable resource for people experiencing psychiatric disabilities. Throughout 2002, this popular web site has been receiving an average of 12,500 hits per month. The website enables consumers to share experiences, wisdom, and concerns in handling a psychiatric disability at work and school with others via email.
